Far Cry 5 Chain Takedown Kills Easy

Far Cry 5 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. It's an open world shooter set in a big area called Hope County and is chock-filled with cultists and madmen led by the Seed siblings (the leader being Joseph Seed). You need to take them down, but it won't be easy since they're armed to the teeth with planes, vehicles, big guns, and a group of people.

Luckily, you aren't defenceless since you have a ton of weapons and the support of Hope County's resistance to help you out. Here are some tips and tricks to maximize your Far Cry 5 experience.

Choose Your Shooting Style

Figure out how you play; simple as that. Far Cry 5 will cater to whatever shooter playstyle you want. Whether you want to fight chaotically or be a stealth ninja,

Choose The Right Specialists & Fighters For Your Fighting Style

Want to go all-out guns blazing in any situation? Hire rocket launcher-packing guys like Hurk and heavy hitting animals like Cheeseburger who just attacks EVERYTHING in sight. Bring in Nick; his plane-driving skills are incredibly useful at unleashing hell from a manageable distance.

Want to approach cult bases carefully? Then just hire both Jess Black and Peaches because if there's anything that these two can do well, it's hunting and killing in style. FarCry 5's Specialists help complement your shooting style; just spend a few hours in the game to figure out who should tag along with you.

Get Boomer First

Speaking of Specialists, you should aim to get the dog Boomer first. He's arguably the best scout in the game; he can tag enemies automatically, sneak kill enemies, and fetches guns for you. He's not that good in an all-out public fight, but that's where you come in. Like we mentioned in our Chinese New Year article, Boomer is a very helpful four-legged companion.

Complete Side Missions For Extra Vehicles & Special Items

Every section in Far Cry will at least have a couple of character-based side mission, from saving a town from drugged-up bears to making cows mate with each other to the tune of Marvin Gaye. Finishing these will net you special vehicles which can give you a huge advantage.

Unlock These Perks First

Once you get your first 100 kills or catch your first few fishes, you will get Perk Points which you need to get more powerful and do cool skills like chain takedowns. When you get your first few Perk Points, do pick the following Perks to help ease you into the Far Cry 5 experience.

Additional Holster (8 SP) – Carry a 3rd weapon of any type in your weapon wheel.

  • You need to pack a lot of heat at the start of Far Cry 5. The general rule here is toequip one long-range weapon, one short-ranged weapon, and one silenced weapon. Unlocking this means you can get equipped easily. Once you unlock your fourth slot (after freeing one of the three regions in Hope County), you should use that for grenades or molotovs.

Parachute (1 SP) – Unlocks a parachute to deploy while falling.

  • If you're planning on using planes in the game, this is a must-get. If you plan to tailor your shooting style up to the skies, get the Wing Suit perk next.

Sneaky Sprint (4 SP) – Move much faster while crouched.

  • If you plan onsneaking around a lot and saving bullets via stealth takedowns, you need this perk.

Takedown Mastery (6 SP) – Unlocks chain, melee throw, and sidearm takedowns.

  • Chain takedown is a darn good skill to take when you're in the early stages of the game. Ditto for chain takedowns when you're jumping in on enemies while trying to keep quiet. Far Cry 5's stealth game is still spot-on and fun, so having this move, as well as melee throws and sidearm takedowns, are nice bonuses.

Grapple (1 SP) – Unlocks the grapple tool. Find grapple spots in the world to climb.

  • If you want tounlock prepper stashes while you're exploring the hellish countryside, you need this perk to get around and across. Having a grappling hook helps with world exploration too, but really, if you want to hoard the best items early on, you need this to traverse easily to hidden prepper stashes.

Repair Torch (5 SP) – Repair cars and open safes

  • Not only can you get your vehicles up and running for just a few seconds of blowtorching, you can also open up giant metal safes that are usually in Prepper Stashes.

Search For Prepper Stashes

This is why the Grapple skill and the Repair Torch skill is worth investing early. You will have an easier time getting to Prepper Stashes which contain a lot of money and additional crafting materials for your dynamites and explosives.

Farm For Those Perk Points

Once you get your first few Specialists and liberated your first region of Hope County, you should go around and explore the game world while you're on a mission to get the most Perk Points. Far Cry 5 is tailored so that you can spend oodles of hours exploring and searching for outposts to liberate. We'll end this feature with a full Perk Points acquisition list.
