I actually like her easy going style of writing. She makes an instant connect with the reader moreover her stories are so piece of life that y'all are bound to observe similarities. Fifty-fifty in this 1 I enjoyed it but I had a minor issue with the multiple plots she tried bringing in the novel which at times left me confused. The main plot itself was besides strong to demand any further sub plots, also at some places typos were a huge disappointment for information technology broke the flow of a reader.Overall a decent read, one that haunted me subsequently I read it for sadly the story is still relevant in today's times , was relevant 40 years agone and might still be relevant in future too. The ugly facet of our country exposed very beautifully.
I loved the catastrophe, she had me there. :)

Lovely story-line, depicts the exact feeling of any female facing discontentment in married life despite a love matrimony! RAtnamma's character is worth noticing because of which Mridula cud make a decision to move out and lead an independent life!
Simply departure in this novel was tat, there was a happy ending!

On more than serious terms, this book was more complex than Mahashwetha or Dollar Bahu. It involved so many unlike characters that I often had to turn back my pages only to run into who it was. And all those actress characters seemed dull. It seemed to be fast forwarded movie while I was reading. I taught me to value relationships more than money, and then many niggling things that nosotros e'er find in Sudha Thousand I personally loved the catastrophe, and whole the book! Information technology helped me get through waiting in a Govt function :D

Sudha Murthy as ever portrays a serious issue in a uncomplicated nonetheless impactful story. Business firm of cards is the journey of Mridula, from being a happy immature girl hailing from a small village to a married woman grappling with the ways of life in a metropolitan city. Stories similar these are not uncommon in Indian society. The writer has rightly hit the smash on how a woman's sacrifice for her husband and family is considered a moral obligation, as if she lives her life for everyone just herself. All of Sudha Murthy's books teach you a lesson not like a self aid book but past living information technology through her characters experiences similar Mridula.
Simple writing fashion and a gripping story makes it a cakewalk to read her books.

A very well written volume. At times I felt that every adult female becomes a Mridula sometime in her lifetime.

Simply in that location comes a moment in life when money comes into play and so so does greed. This story tells u.s. about what she goes through when her family unit challenges her beliefs likewise every bit what greed does to a person which in turn affects a wedlock.
Sudha takes a very relevant topic and through this story actually conveys what really happens in a household.
It starts really skilful with a strong story line and the writing style is pretty like shooting fish in a barrel to understand. The characters had a strong base and were well developed but as the story continued the characters become shallow.
To me Sudha lost the plot mid way when diverse characters and sub-plots were introduced which weren't really relevant. Forth with this, the fourth dimension line inverse too frequently without completing the previous one, which actually irked me.
The ending was really sweet though and overall would say that it was a decent read.

Disappointed with the author to use certain language which is hands understandable by everyone but not digestible.
Never going to read any such books
Sudha Murty has put across the story in a very simple and effective way. Nothing is over dramatised. Things are put beyond subtley and beautifully. The story also touches upon subjects like corruption and partiality of the system towards people with contacts. It exposes the dillemma and the difficulty of the masses who want to work hard and just dont get the fruits of their labour, purely because they dont know the right people.
Its a simple and quick read. I would recommend it to everyone.
